This approach will have a positive impact in so many directions: Physical health, mental health, crime reduction, better education, increased sustainability and all this while employing and training community members and putting the funds into making their lives better.
Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:
The idea is to train school staff or hire more people with the goal of providing for reused loose parts play during recess. This very basic idea has profound impact that can be seen in its success in projects in other countries including in metro areas equivalent to NYC. Materials are sourced from the communities including diverting them from going to landfills. Students having access to this play have better outcomes in so many aspects of life, which in turn impacts parents, teachers and the community at large.
