Make the cafeteria a better place @ X118

What problem would you like to solve?

Many school cafeterias are uninviting spaces where students don't actually want to be. We want to make the cafeteria a space that students can look forward to being in and relaxing. We want it to feel more like the inviting space of a college and less like a regular school cafeteria.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Our 1st floor space was recently redone and has become very popular among students because the space that feels like a student lounge. The only problem is it isn't available for students during lunch. They want to bring the comforts of the 1st floor into the cafeteria so they have a comfortable place to relax and unwind. This would improve community among students.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

We would like to propose improved seating in the cafeteria along with adding TVs for school announcements, calendars, and a bit of relaxation. This would make the lunch time experience feel more like a break in their day as the newer cafeteria space would be more like an oasis for many students.
