Allowing cars to turn while pedestrians cross both endangers pedestrians and holds up traffic

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

more than 120 pedestrians and cyclists died in NYC last year. Why do we let cars cross at the same time as fragile bodies?

What idea do you have to address the problem?

have traffic safety experts assess traffic flow and potential danger and reset light timers accordingly

Who would that help?

intersections around 145th street (where I live) are chaos! It would help walkers cross safely and traffic move more smoothly
