Essential

Medicaid education for people with disabilities

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

Lack of knowledge/education of Medicaid services available for people with disabilities

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

The disability community is underserved and undereducated about what is available or are eligible under Medicaid. Medicaid education would benefit the disability community so they can receive services they are eligible for and improve their well being.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Create Medicaid specific education services for all organizations that assist people with disabilities who utilize Medicaid services. Fund specific departments that solely focus on Medicaid to make it as easy as possible for people to understand enroll and utilize.

Who would that help?

People with disabilities and people who are eligible for Medicaid service.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Bronx
