Limited Seating for Pre-K and 3K Schools

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

The problem that we would like to solve is the lack of seats in pre-k and 3k schools.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

This is important to solve because parents have begun complaining about the difficulty to secure a seat in pre-k and 3k schools. Priority is given to students with siblings already enrolled in the schools, making it difficult for first kids who have been on the waitlist.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

An idea to combat this issue is reviewing the enrollment process of these schools to make it fair to all kids. And perhaps increasing resources for these schools to take in more kids.

Who would that help?

This would help parents trying to enroll their kids into these schools.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

All boroughs would benefit from this idea.
