Essential

Operation: Safer Streets

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

The issues of pedestrians and cyclists being endangered by cars. Submitted on behalf of Django from IntegrateNYC.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Many people are killed every year by cars, and I think more people would feel safer, not only walking around and biking, but also letting their kids walk around and bike around the neighborhood.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Ban parking that blocks the views of pedestrians crossing at dangerous intersections and more protected bike lanes.

Who would that help?

Local pedestrians and cyclists

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Brooklyn
