What problem would you like to solve?

School segregation and inequitable distribution of financial resources to schools. Submitted on behalf of Melanie @ IntegrateNYC

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

It is important because as we know, schools are still segregated and many students do not have equal access to well funded and good schools.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

I think changing the admission system to be more lottery based so people feel more compelled to ensure that schools get equitable funding.

    Who would that help?

Students of color and poor students

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

    Brooklyn
