Minor home repairs and home safety for older New Yorkers is a major concern.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Falls prevention is key to allowing older adults to age in their homes safely. Falls can be debilitating and deadly. Many older adults need minor home repairs to maintain their homes.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Funding would pay workers who could do these repairs and assess falls prevention. Can be administered through local older adult centers, NORCs and DFTA case management programs.

Who would that help?

Older New Yorkers who are unable to make minor home repairs and live safely in their home.
