Pretty Green Bins - Outdoor Storage (PGBOS)

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

People place clothing and shoes and other things on the sidewalks and streets to donate. Cars and drivers and bicyclists are driving and riding over it.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Clothing and shoes should not be scattered throughout the outdoors. People could trip over them. Clothing can clog the sewers.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

The City should purchase those green locked boxes or bins where people can deposit the clothes and shoes they want to donate. There is one bin at West 26 street between 8th Ave and 9th Ave.

Clothing donors might get a receipt for tax deduction, or not.

Who would that help?

It helps keep the streets and sidewalks cleaner for sanitation department.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Manhattan
