What problem would you like to solve?

I would like to remove the stigma the different BIPOC age groups hold against one another; Baby boomers v. millennials v. generation x v. adolescents.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Older generations have valuable lessons to give and younger generations are in need of guidance. There is widespread discomfort between generations that needs to be addressed.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

A mobile, intergenerational, peer support group serving the North Shore of Staten Island. The group would spark dialogue about the issues we all face and slowly expose each generation to different ideas and ways of thinking so we can think as more of a collective.

Who would that help?

Elders could use the activity and provide valuable lessons to the younger generations. It also makes the younger people understand with why things are the way they are.
