Essential

Housing for Formerly Incarcerated People

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

There is a lack of housing for formerly incarcerated people returning home for NYC.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

It is a positive resource for people returning to the community to have a stable environment to live in. It will help to promote a positive re-entry within society.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Allocate more funding toward housing for formerly incarcerated individuals; increase the affordable housing in NYC, this encompassing more people whom are low income to be housed.

Who would that help?

Low income and formerly incarcerated individuals. Long term effects: It helps to promote reentry into NYC from jails and prisons.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

All boroughs
