What problem would you like to solve?

There are too few public facilities to help older adults.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

It would increase public safety; older adults are the most vulnerable.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

  1. Add sidewalk public seating for older adults.
  2. There should be seating within a certain distance from housing. Small, "drum-like" seats for one individual to use at a time. This would discourage lying, congregating. But would allow a senior to rest at intervals.
  3. There should be crossing signs for older adults around older adult centers -- similar to school zones.

Who would that help?

Seniors

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

All boroughs. I live in Manhattan.
