Pathways to Workforce

Avatar: Official proposal Official proposal

What problem would you like to solve?

There is a significant number of youth who are seeking a post secondary track that is not college. We would like to provide access to young adults to workforce options and vetted and vested employers.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Our young adults are our future and recently there has been an increase in crime and arrests conetered around our youth. Workforce options would provide a sustainable living wage to aid in breaking the cycle of poverty.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Create a multiple pathway program with education and certification options in the community that provides mentorship, internship, resume building mock interview and certification pathways in fields of healthcare, construction, green jobs and more. The certification options will come hand in hand with on the job experience through employment partners.

Who would that help?

It would help youth ages 16-24 years old

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Mott Haven and Melrose
