Let's Know Each other: Cultural Awareness Campaign

Avatar: Official proposal Official proposal

What problem would you like to solve?

Lack of cultural awareness

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Lack of cultural awareness lead us to misjudge people from other cultures. Sunset Park is a diverse neighborhood but unfortunately people don't know a lot about each other. I believe that building relationships with people from different cultures and learning about their culture will make us a stronger community.

What idea do you have to address the problem? Create a Cultural Awareness Campaign for youth and adults to open their minds to different cultures and strengthen their knowledge of the world around them. Especially in NYC, we have the most diverse neighborhoods. Therefore, we need to have a program that helps community members understand each other's cultures, promote engagement with others, and build strong, diverse communities. For example:

- Organize trips to ethnic neighborhoods in NYC
- Organize multicultural events & multicultural food festival

Who would that help?
Minority groups

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Sunset Park
