A lot of nursery school and daycare providers closed in Washington Heights and the during the pandemic.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Parents need daycares and nursery schools for their children

What idea do you have to address the problem?

More programs need to be opened. Extended hours would also be helpful. Most programs are 8am to 5pm so parents have to rush to drop off kids and pick them up. Ideal hours would be 7am to 7pm. After school programs in DOE schools would be helpful in addition to private providers.

Who would that help?

This would help local parents and their children.
