Music Instruction for Teens

Avatar: Hillary Carelli-Donnell Hillary Carelli-Donnell
Idea Submission for The People's Money:
A program with classes that teach teens/youth how to play musical instrument of their choice, and how to play music together in a group. Program could take place after school and should be free and accessible. Playing in a band or group ensemble builds social skills, helps build confidence and focus ! Could be an all drum class or a band with various instruments.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
Kids spend a lot of time on their phones, and listening to music but because music and arts classes are being cut from public school curriculum , they aren’t exposed to the art of playing an instrument. Kids could benefit from music instruction, especially at no cost to their parents plus learning a musical instrument helps kids brains develop and gives them a lifelong skill, and a hobby that will keep on giving even after they’ve become Adults .
Which groups does your idea focus on? Select all that apply
