Idea Submission for The People's Money:
The Inclusive Arts & Leadership Program provides safe, creative spaces for neurodiverse and special education youth and adults to explore fashion, art, media, performance, and leadership development. This program creates weekly arts labs in schools and community centers, culminating in a citywide Autism Acceptance & Special Education Fashion Showcase. Youth and neurodiverse individuals work with trained teaching artists and inclusion specialists to build confidence, identity, and expressive skills.
What is the problem your idea aims to address?
Many neurodiverse and special education students lack sensory-safe, inclusive arts programs that meet their emotional and learning needs. Schools are overwhelmed, families feel unsupported, and youth often lack self-expression opportunities. This program fills a major equity gap.
Which groups does your idea focus on? Select all that apply
