Describe the challenge you want to address:
The city is very dirty and full of litter mostly from people littering. People just toss garbage on the ground, throw garbage out of cars, and into \ncorner catch basins. Everyone complains about rats, but it's mostly from people throwing litter and garbage on the ground.
What is the solution to the challenge?
We need more anti-littering campaigns, educating all NYC residents about not throwing litter on the ground, cleaning up after their pets, not throwing garbage into the corner catch basins. The public service announcements can also include the importance of conserving water. The campaign can start in the schools with education about not littering and ways to conserve water. Students can create slogans and create posters for the citywide campaign to clean up NYC, and the best ones can be made into permanent signs that can be posted around the city and in all neighborhoods. The city should also sponsor monthly clean ups and engage youth to help clean up, paint over graffiti, clean tree beds, etc.
