As people rent and frequently move, they feel less connected to buildings and surroundings so they don't always appreciate them or put effort in maintaining them.
- What is the solution to the challenge?

Having more sense of ownership and agency would help people to treat their places to live or communal resources with more respect and care. If there were more incentives for residents to collaborate and clean, repair, decorate their buildings, it could help change the disposable attitude. Maybe offering additional funds to buildings where tenants organize to make the building a better place to live.
