Describe the challenge you want to address:

There has been a dearth of public library sponsored cultural programs in the Coney Island community for children. This has been due to constrained budgets for such events on the part of the Brooklyn Public Library system. Now that situation is greatly exacerbated with the recent sever budget cutbacks.

Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:

I would like funding to provide Center for Traditional Music and Dance programs at elementary schools in our community. These programs would be both accessible for our diverse, immigrant population and educational for those less acquainted with the cultures represented since these are multicultural programs.
