Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:
Select 3 - 5 public middle or high schools where the student body would benefit from a free meal served during “after school” hours in cafeteria. Can be cooked on site or hire caterer. Goal is to take financial burden off of low income families. A secondary goal is the kids are in school after dismissal which increases their potential to participate in after school activities or at least get to know school staff. This service is free and available to all students to avoid stigma.
