Describe the challenge you want to address:
With a recent rise in dog ownership, there's been an increased public safety risk as new/existing dog owners may not be aware of the harm that their dogs may cause to other dogs or people (specifically children).
Describe your idea and approach to address the challenge:
1. The city would spread awareness (via posting various PSAs around the neighborhood, social media ads, emailing) highlighting key dog ownership safety tips (e.g. keep your dog on leash in public at all times, always ask the owner before your dog engages with another owner's dog, supervise your dog when around children, etc.) 2. The city would sponsor a dog trainer(s) to host dog training workshops on a regular cadence throughout the year to educate dog owners on basic dog ownership skills and safety knowledge.
