How does your organization plan to bring this idea to life?

Our organization will implement an integrated Social and Emotional Learning program at the Bronx River Art Center to support families. Using culturally relevant arts and nature-based activities, we will provide workshops and community events that foster mental wellness and combine artistic expression with nature immersion.

What motivated your organization to apply to implement this idea?

The Social and Emotional Learning through the Arts and Nature is implementable by the Bronx River Art Center because we can provide high quality art programming with teaching artists and instructors trained in Social and Emotional Learning. We are located on The Bronx River and can readily incorporate nature and its benefits to the program.

How do you think this project will make a difference in your community?

The Social and Emotional Learning through the Arts and Nature is important to the community's well being. Healthy families make a healthy community.

List at least one thing you're excited about related to this project!

We are excited to extend our programming to more Bronxites and showcase their efforts in our student shows. The culmination of efforts is a proud student next to their work in our gallery.
