Girls in the Game: Fund High School Sports Equally

What problem would you like to solve?

Lack of budget and equity when it comes to girls sports in NYC high schools

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Girls work as hard as boys in sports, but we have fewer teams (boys have soccer, track etc.) and less money for the teams we do have - it's not fair or right! Research says that girls who participate on sports teams are more likely to stay in school and graduate HS, go to college and support their communities.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Give us the same amount of money! Make sure as many girls as boys get to participate in school sports teams.

Who would that help?

Girls who want to get in the game!

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
