Executive function support

What problem would you like to solve?

Developing a program in every core subject—ELA, history, math and science— in the life skills of executive function and organization starting in 5th grade and continuing through end of senior year of high school with trained and certified Executive function coaches to work with students one-on-one.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

These essential skills are missing from kids with certain neurological issues which disadvantages them throughout life. But all students can benefit from these essential organizational skills to succeed in any job and life.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Put money into training all guidance counselors and teachers and other school specialists in executive function and organizational strategies AND incorporate it into every core class curriculum. The start and end of every school day should begin with organizational skill review.

Who would that help?

Every public school student in NYC

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Bronx
