Helping the planet HTP

What problem would you like to solve?

I would like to solve the littering problem in NYC.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

I think this is important because climate change is a big threat to the Earth right now. As you might know NYC produces more than 14 million tons of trash every year. It takes billions of years for all of this to break down.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

I think starting a nonprofit and using the money to address it on TV, media, etc. What would happen is that there a posters all over the city about what to recycle. People could do weekly clean ups and have volunteers. Maybe give out prizes to people who help. Fines to people who don't recycle. The money will also go to sanitation and garbage trucks.

Who would that help?

Everyone!

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Manhattan
