Arts and Music in Public Schools

Avatar: Queens Community House Queens Community House

What problem would you like to solve?

The lack of free, accessible arts and music programs (either during the school day or after school) in Queens public schools, particularly elementary schools

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Arts and music are so important for children's overall development. Exposure to arts and music at an early age is essential.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Grants for arts based CBOs or music / theater companies to do programming or residencies at public schools

Who would that help?

public school children and families in Queens

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
