Refined Financial Literacy
What problem would you like to solve?
The struggle that the youth experiences being financially literate is, Adults (18-24-year-olds) are ignorant about handling their money and how to expand on their wealth, but it's because no one has taught them about real-life skills like budgeting, investing, how to file our taxes, and where this money goes.
Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?
Financial literacy gratefully affects all age demographics, especially the youth. Financial instability promotes social struggle, leading to the power dynamic between those and poverty and the middle class to the upper class. This also affects other sectors of society, such as health.
What idea do you have to address the problem?
By opening a program that specializes in financial education, it would create a space for individuals to learn necessary skills, such as investing, budgeting, and filing important documents, including tax and credits reimbursements and checks. This information is not taught in schools but would be good to implement in high school.
Who would that help?
What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
