    What problem would you like to solve?

    Youth Crime and Violence

    Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

    To reduce murder, robbery, and other crimes that impact communities across NYC. It's relevant because 1) other young Black and Brown youth an opportunity to earn money 2) Provide them with early career exposure, and 3) reduce crime in the city

    What idea do you have to address the problem?

    Offer middle and high school DOE students paid internships in areas that are known for high crime.

    Who would that help?

    This idea will help economically challenged Black and Brown youth between the ages of 13 and 24 who need to make money and learn a career that will offer them a livable income.

    What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
