Describe the challenge you want to address:
At-risk youth and those impacted by the justice system often lack access to structured after-school programs, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. Without these resources, many young people face heightened risks of negative outcomes, including disengagement from education and community. Expanding youth services would create safe spaces and provide tools to help them build resilience, foster personal growth, and thrive.
What is the solution to the challenge?
Queens Defenders offers a range of impactful youth programs, including Youth Justice Court, support groups, and leadership development initiatives. With this funding, we aim to expand after-school activities and mentorship opportunities for all youth, with a special focus on those at risk or impacted by the justice system. This initiative would provide safe, supportive spaces designed to empower young people, foster personal growth, and help them reach their full potential.
