Describe the challenge you want to address:: NYC holds the greatest number of artists per capita in the world and is the source of over 10 genres of music and dance styles however, this city still offers no sustainable income for artists to live securely and comfortably while they do their important work.
What is the solution to the challenge?: This event seeks to address that by highlighting different methods of creating artist sustainability such as the guaranteed income program for artists held in New York State in 2022 and other new ideas. At the end of the program, the audience will be invited to vote on which method would be best to support next. The event will feature local artists of all types, woven throughout the program to remind the audience of who and what they're supporting. Food and refreshments will also be provided.
