Arts & Cultural at JHS189Q - Diversity & civic engagement through Art

What problem would you like to solve?

Bringing teens together to talk about culture, our community, and families through ART

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Queens is one of the most diverse cities in the world. Bringing teenagers together to talk about diversity through art can help inspire and bring ideas on how to get more involved in civic engagement at a young age. Teenagers sometimes are not aware of what impact they have if they get more involved in their community.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Create an after-school Art workshop at JHS189Q - Bring in an Art teacher, Community Leader and teach an art class that is focus on Diversity & Community

Who would that help?

Middle School Students / Teenagers

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Corona
