What problem would you like to solve?

Trees and Sidewalks need to be maintained. Beautiful trees are being destroyed, are tipping over, branches and roots damage buildings and sidewalks. The city should be responsible for fixing cracked sidewalks and taking ownership of public property and Liability. Requesting Service for a tree or sidewalk to 311 is never resolved. A number system is used to determine how severe the cracked sidewalk is. If you dont have a crater as a sidewalk than you will not receive service. No maintenance or care shown to trees resonate in communities that are underserved. Providing tree and sidewalk care can also educate people about trees on streets. Please save the trees in Queens, some are over 100 years old and are being destroyed by the lack of care. Roots are pulling up sidewalks or visa versa, sidewalks are not holding trees down. Storms make it even worse.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Trees are important to the city landscape. Maintained and Beautiful landscaping can have a positive effect on residents Mental Health and Wellbeing.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

City workers maintain trees and fix sidewalks that are cracking because of the tree.

    Who would that help?

    Queens residents

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Elmhurst, East Elmhurst and Corona in Queens
