What problem would you like to solve?

There are many older immigrant adults who live by themselves and are unemployed. Because they are undocumented, they don't have access to a pension or federal benefits.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Many of these adults depend on jobs to survive, and currently it is harder and harder for them to compete in the job market.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Dedicate resources to the NYC Dept of the Aging so that this department can create a distinct Office for Immigrant Older Adults who are undocumented to help them get training and preparation for jobs, English classes, and technology training, without requiring a social security number for them to access these resources.

    Who would that help?

Undocumented immigrant workers over 50 years old

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

    All boroughs
