What problem would you like to solve?

Promoting American Sign Language murals to promote ASL to general public.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

It is relevant as the Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts employment to rise by 46% from 2012 to 2020. However, in places like city courts, shortages of sign language interpreters can pose a problem. By promoting this through murals, it teaches people, especially children, a language that they may be interested in learning.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Create murals of the ASL alphabet, plastered near schools, transit stations, or parks

    Who would that help?

Would help those who rely on American Sign Language, while also exposing individuals to a vocabulary of ASL letters

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

N/A, would benefit all boroughs equally
