Holistic Digital Literacy Program for all ages

What problem would you like to solve?

There is an increasing Digital Divide, especially in Black and Brown communities. There needs to be a way to bridge that gap for people within their own community. There is also a lack of knowledge on cyber security, there are many people who are online but aren't aware of how vulnerable they may be online. It's to give people who don't have the opportunity to learn those skills a chance to do so without having to pay or leave their own neighborhood.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

It gives people the chance to gain a very practical skill that may be out of reach for them otherwise. Learning to be more technologically savvy gives you better chances at getting employment or getting better employment.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

A free program for people of the community ran by people of the community that gives people the opportunity to learn how to better use computers. A place with free access to high quality internet. Also to help people learn about cyber security and how to keep themselves safe while they are online.

Who would that help?

It would be useful for just about anybody. Those who need help learning how to use a computer or the internet and even for those that do they can to be more safe and secure while they are online.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?
