Expansion of reduced fare prgram-Diane Word Idea

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

Expanding the existing Fair Fares program to make it more accessible for people to get reduced cards at stores and/or subway stations

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

So seniors and disabled residents will be able to buy reduced cards at local popups rather wait months to receive fare card

What idea do you have to address the problem?

have the check cashing stores, mta stations and pharmacys sell reduced cards instead of waiting for program to mail cards to residents

Who would that help?

low income residents and/or people who qualify for fair fares program

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Manhattan
