What problem would you like to solve?

Many new city residents have advanced degrees in foreign countries with no equivalency in the United States

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

There are many educated and capable workers in NYC that are locked out of their respective fields because of a lack of degree reciprocity

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Work with CUNY and SUNY to identify new residents with degrees in their home countries and what an equivalent degree track would look like in America. The program would then work to secure grants, scholarships, and funding opportunities to have this person receive the degree in the United States

Who would that help?

Any new resident of NYC with an advanced degree that will not be accepted in America
