Essential

Bus service in Staten Island

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

Bus service is poor in Staten Island. Ferry passengers would wait so long for a bus.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Transportation is essential for all residents. Delayed buses causes many troubles.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Years ago, there were extra buses waiting at the ferry for people in case of delay, adding more buses for residents. People should not wait over 15min just as other boroughs in NYC. And puts up digital screen showing when the bus will come. Scan is not good because sometime people don’t have access to smart phones.

Who would that help?

People who take public transportations, especially older adults

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Staten Island
