What problem would you like to solve?

Youth today have a lack of understanding about what is appropriate in the workplace. Seniors have so much wisdom to offer and very few people to offer it to.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

For the youth, it is important to know how to interact with others in a professional environment. For the Seniors, it is important to have socialization and to share the accumulated wisdom of their years

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Start a program wherein youth are directed to senior centers on Staten Island to have seminar-style learning interactions from the seniors, to hear stories of what work was like for them and to learn what healthy professionalism looks like. Youth and seniors can work together on practice projects that benefit the community and give both groups lived experience
