Essential

Drug Prevention Programs

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

The problem that we would like to solve is the recent drug and vape epidemic that has been affecting our youth. Ever since marijuana has been legal in New York City, there have been a rise in smoke shops and vape sellers that have been targeting the youth.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

This is important to solve because the youth are the most vulnerable to falling into drugs and with the legalization of weed in the state, there has been a rise in the youth using drugs and becoming addicted.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

An idea to combat this issue is creating more drug prevention programs in schools, community centers, youth centers, etc.

Who would that help?

This would help the youth of the community who have fallen victims to drug abuse.

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

All boroughs would benefit from this idea.
