Programs for special needs students in mid-August to September

Avatar: Community Member Community Member

What problem would you like to solve?

Parents that that have children with special needs ages 3-21 that go to school year round lose income from work trying to get services for their children while on school break.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Parents cannot afford to be without work for 3 weeks in the summer trying to find people to stay with their children that also have experience working with the special needs population.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Fund a summer program that starts in mid-August because summer programs in District 75 end at the end of July.

Who would that help?

Special needs youth and families

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Citywide (Bronx)
