Essential

Control Rat Population

Avatar: Official proposal Official proposal

What problem would you like to solve?

Rats are rampant in the streets of the Upper West Side and Riverside Park

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Rats carry diseases and are increasingly aggressive. Too many in the community where there are many children and pets (as well as seniors who cannot move quickly to avoid the rats

What idea do you have to address the problem?

1) Better and stronger garbage containers (residential, commercial and public) to ensure rats cannot get into the garbage. 2) More frequent garbage collections 3) Expanded rat collection containers in the parks and building alleys and basements plus more rat poison

Who would that help?

Every neighborhood currently plagued by rat overpopulation

What NYC borough would benefit from your idea?

Citywide
