Essential

Clean Streets - Brooklyn

Avatar: Official proposal Official proposal

What problem would you like to solve?

I would like to solve the cleanliness of the community mentally and physically.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

It is important to solve because I strongly believe that the physcial state of a community is a direct manifestation of the mental state.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

I believe we can work together to keep our communities safe and clean if it is left up to the whole community and not just assigned. We can petition the communikty weekly throughout the summer to help keep the community clean. i.e. clean streets, parks, vacant lots, etc.

Who would that help?

This would help the well being of everyone in the community. This would also put a demand on the commuity itself to help keep the streets clean and free of liter and violence, which will help with the mental state of the community workers whose job it is to clean the streets. They are overwhelmed with work. The city can't keep up with all the violence and trash that plagues the community. The workers are underappreciated and overworked. It should be all of our responsibility to help keep our streets sage and clean, and to live a healthy live inside and out.
