Lack of accessible, affordable spaces for creative and community activities: film screenings, audio recording, live events (music, comedy, poetry, etc.).

Strong communities are vital to our personal and civic well being! By creating a space for community, we will strengthen it!

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Secure funding for a suitable property in the Crown Heights/Prospect Lefferts Gardens area and build it into an experimental community space.

Who would that help?

People in the neighborhood looking for places to host events: film screenings, poetry readings, live music, comedy nights, community dinners, etc. Also, creatives looking for a space to film, record, study, work out, etc.

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Crown Heights! Or Prospect Lefferts Gardens. (I live in Crown Heights but would be thrilled to do this in either neighborhood).
