Changes at "Indoors Basketball Gym"

What problem would you like to solve?

The idea is creating an indoor basketball gym, In creating this gym where youths or anyone who may enjoy the sport basketball can come and enjoy themselves can solve many problems. A lot of youths tend to walk the streets or stay in parks late at night. This can happen because they have no activities after school or a hang out area where they can express themselves and their crafts.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

This idea is important to solve and can resolve a lot of issues that are faced because the indoor basketball gym can create a center where young boys and girls can engage in sports they enjoy after school hours and helps keep them safe and off the streets at night.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

This problem can be addressed in various ways, we can use a center that is no longer being occupied on Staten Island on foreclosure to create a space for the gym. Staten Island has a lot of unsafe abandoned buildings that’s no longer being used and left un-touch. Some people use them for shelters or Hang out areas. Turning them in a gym where everyone can have access and create a safe space can create a healthy community.

Who would that help?

The gym will help a lot of youth in the community that’s still in high school and can’t use the gym after hours. As well as young people who can’t afford a membership. This gym will build a better community where you see familiar faces and form a sense of family.

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

This can benefit a lot of minority neighborhoods on Staten Island such as 10304,103010 etc. It will help keep students and young people off the streets And occupy in something productive.
