What problem would you like to solve?

Only 57% of residents in Bronx Community District 1 feel that their neighbors can be relied upon to help each other; community and/or block disconnect.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Many problems within each block or community result from the fact that people on the block or in the community do not engage with one another. There is distrust and no ownership.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Community building activities -- Block parties; street/block cleaning events; block/community fundraisers with profits used by the community or donated to specific causes within the community.

Who would that help?

Everyone, particularly homeowners and residents of the South Bronx.

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Mott Haven, Port Morris, Melrose
