What problem would you like to solve?

Violence and neighborhood security.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Kids, women, and families all have a hard time just getting to the train station or wherever they need to go, but distrust law enforcement.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Neighborhood watch is outdated and historically biased. We have to find new ways to create credible messengers and programming that pays community members to diffuse arguments. For example, having someone to walk with toward the train at night, or having a 24/7 support line open for only for the 11101.

Who would that help?

Everyone, especially women and senior citizens.
