What problem would you like to solve?

Affordable childcare and comfortable Adult Daycare.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

Childcare is now as expensive as rent. Children need safe spaces to learn, socialize, and play. Seniors need more safe places to exercise, socialize, get informed, and still participate in their community. There is only one Community Center in the Pelham Parkway/ Morris Park area, a lot of daycares, and not that many afterschool programs; this has caused an inflation of prices that many families cannot afford. There are a couple of empty lots and buildings that are big enough to service the neighborhoods and keep it affordable.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

Build more community centers out of vacant land or abandon buildings beautifies the neighborhood and gives more opportunities for the community to come together.

    Who would that help?

Kids, working adults, the elderly, and the community as a whole.

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Morris Park, Pelham Parkway, and Williamsbridge.
