Essential

Mobile Mental Health Services for Queensbridge

Avatar: Official proposal Official proposal

What problem would you like to solve?

Too many mentally ill persons on the streets who needs mental health services.

Why is it important to solve? Why is it relevant for the community?

To help people feel safe, people are afraid to walk the streets and use public transportation. Also, the community lacks sufficient accessible mental health programs with trained professionals to assist in immediately responding to cases regarding the mentally ill populations.

What idea do you have to address the problem?

To set up a Mobile Mental Health Services: to have access to a vehicle and or tents fully equipped with man-power and materials needed to respond to persons in need of mental health attention. Commuters will have access to their number where they can reach them if they see a situation that may need some attention by the mobile unit.

Who would that help?

Pedestrians and all users of public transportation in the community

What neighborhood would benefit from your idea?

Queensbridge
